Instrument is a digital creative agency in Portland, Oregon, outfitted in a WWII-era shipbuilding factory. The well-lit, existing space is blown-out white, overshadowed by an enormous gantry focused around an existing teepee. Frustrated with the dynamics of working as a 100-man operation with no private space, the Instrument partners tasked William Kaven with re-imagining the 15,000-SF studio. The eventual design included multiple conference rooms, a commercial kitchen and an additional mezzanine space for expansion.
