Elements is situated on a complex site in Mosier, Oregon with panoramic views of both the Columbia River Gorge and Coyote Syncline. The home is comprised of an expansive open living space, separated from the harsh elements only by a facade of continuous glass. A dramatic terrace cantilevers extensively towards the river west, providing covered exterior living. The lower plinth of the structure, from which numerous rectangular forms cantilever above, house the primary sleeping quarters. This area then steps down to grade, completing a connection to the surrounding high desert landscape.
